Starting point
The Hive Co’s team runs client work out of Gmail. Requests arrived as email, and tracking owners, deadlines, and replies meant holding it all in people’s heads and inboxes.
Inside the product
A connected inbox turns recognized client emails into tasks with a request type, owner, and turnaround target. Requests that need a decision go to the team for review. Operators see their day in priority order and can work through one request at a time in focus mode, reviewing drafted replies before sending them. Client records, weekly digests, and reports bring open work and turnaround into view. Each connected inbox stays the team’s work surface: the engine reads replies on open threads, checks off or adds sub-tasks, closes a task when the team’s reply delivers the work, and reopens it if the client writes back. The team can also manage its tasks through Claude.
What happened next
Built and delivered in about two weeks, then refined through ten rounds of feedback with the team.
Ongoing work
Replies are drafted for review by default. Once a client’s drafts have consistently gone out unedited, the team can let them send automatically.
